Homeowner's 2014 Meeting and 2014 Improvement Incentive Program

Our 2014 Homeowner's annual meeting is Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at FSE in the Media Room at 7 p.m.

A letter will be sent out the first full week in April.

In it there is a reminder about the 2014 Lot Improvement Incentive Program. Details for the program and info how to apply for a rebate on lot improvements is here.

For all (exterior) lot improvements, you will need to remit an Improvement Permit Application to the Board prior to starting the project. This holds true whether you are applying for the rebate or not. Improvement Permit Application

Kind regards,

Your Brookshire Board of Directors

Brookshire Documents You Can Use

The Brookshire documents are located at the free Google Doc site. New links for paperwork you may need are below. These were updated on May 22, 2013.

Before you embark on any costly improvements, be sure to review your Brookshire Lot Restrictions. Be the best neighbor you can be! Print off a Brookshire Improvement Permit Application

Lot restrictions for Lots 1-85**

**What has changed? You will note the restrictions (link above) state for lots 1-23. However, a civil case (CV89-26207) in the early years of the HOA found that the restrictions above, covenants and assessments apply to all lots 1-85.

Find your lot number.

Download a copy of the By-Laws.

Download and print your own copy, or request one from any one of your current Board Members.

The date for the Brookshire Garage Sale is August 25th, starting at 8 a.m. A notice will be put on Craigslist and the local newspaper.

The date for the Homeowner's picnic will be September 22, from 4:30-8 p.m. A separate postcard mailing will go out regarding the picnic.

============
9/18/12
CORRECTION: Update. There will be no picnic on the 22nd.

The Board is considering other dates. As we still have two vacant positions, planning is a little more tedious.

If and when an alternate date is determined, then a separate mailing will go out via USPS, and a banner will be hung at the entry.

Reminder, there is no picnic on the 22nd.

Brookshire Homeowners' Picnic, September 24th

Residents of Brookshire are encouraged to attend the re-instated, annual picnic/block party on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Come meet your neighbors, your current board and enjoy some good grub.

At the Annual Brookshire Homeowners picnic, and we’re going big!
· Meet your neighbors,
· Enjoy great food,
· Music, popcorn and more,
· And an INFLATABLE for the kids! (weather permitting)

NEW: You can enter our first-ever neighborhood bake-off. One winner will receive a Zarda's gift card, enough to feed a family of four. Rules are simple:

  • You must submit one homemade pie or cake (sorry cookie lovers)

  • The dessert must be made by you, the current resident. Unless "grandma" lives with you full-time, she can't enter her pie in the bake-off, unless you do the mixing and baking yourself.

  • Former board members or an impartial panel will be asked on site to judge. (You cannot be a judge if your household entered the bake-off.)

The epicenter of the activity will be at 1903 Brighton Place. The through street and drives will be blocked, so park up the street and walk, or just walk from your house if you are close enough.

The Brookshire Board will provide the meat (burgers and dogs), buns, condiments, and plasticware. You bring a dessert and side dish, and don't forget your lawn chairs!

This event is for current homeowners and residents. (You will have to "party" with your extended family and friends on your own time and turf :)

{{In the event of inclement weather, parts or all of the festivities may be cancelled. At this point, no rain-date has been determined. Email brookshireHOA@yahoo.com before 3 p.m. on the 24th if concerned about the weather. Or check back to this blog site.}}
